I love Christmas, buying the right gift for the right person, all the shopping, the crowds. Spending the money, sending cards, wrapping gift. Friends & family around, lots of parties and gifts. Ah Christmas.
I hate Christmas, having to buy gifts for everone, fighting the crowds. Spending all the money, sending cards, wrapping gifts. People coming by all the time, all those silly parties & gifts bah humbug Christmas.
No matter how you look at Christmas, you have to admit that the stress is up. People's patience seem to have gotten short. Burglaries & robberies go up, more family fights.
It seems each year there is less & less Christ in Christmas, yet Christmas is for celebrating His birthday. Christ mass is where Christmas came from So this year remember WHO HE IS and why we have Christ-mas. If you do that, then maybe you will have a better one this year.

Thanks Giving
Thanks giving, less than a week away and what do we have to be thankful for? The new health care law is going to cause thousands of people to either loose thier jobs or have thier hours cut. Twinkies are gone. Isreal is in another war. There are wars & rumors of wars all over the world. There are earth quakes & strange storms all over the place. It doesn't sound very promising.
But thank God for his word! For His word tells us that things are just going to get worse and worse. If you know Gods word, then you know what is happening, but if you don't know His word, I suggest you start reading it. All these things are predicted in the Bible. All of these things add up to one thing, THE RETURN OF CHRIST!
The war in the middle east will get worse until some one steps in to make since of peace for them (Germany), then things will be better for awhile, but then look out.We as Christians believe that the return of Christ is soon! If you are not sure whats going on, then you need to call out to God to reveal Himself to you. May the light of Christ shine brightly through you & you Church. May the Churchs continue to be the leader in help & support for those in need.

God is my source
November 7th, elections are over, thank goodness. I get so tired of all the ads during elections years. God is God, only he knows what is to come. Kings are kings because God made them kings. Presidents are presidents because God made them presidents.
My is source God, not government. He is my Father, and a good one He is. Christain or not, if you know anything about the bible, then just look around at the world and look at Bible prophecy! Things are being set up for the end of mans rule. No one knows when, but surely it is close. A lot closer than some think!
Don't bury your head in the sand, reach out more & more to God. If you have never reached out, test God and say are you real, touch my heart and let me know that you are really there. God is waiting for you to come and ask him. Dig into the word, stay in prayer and look more and more to God, not government.

Capturing Thoughts
My apologies for the lack of post since April. We have a tendencies to let thoughts control our emotions at times, even when we know better. So this post is on taking thoughts captive.
Thoughts, we all have them, question is what do we do with them? I bet at one time or another you had a thought & said - where did that come from. If you haven't, you probably did but did not realize it.
Satan, the prince of the air. Air - something that sounds us. Satan can not be every where at one time, other wise he would be omnipresent, the only one with that title is God. So that means the angels of darkness are all around us, whispering things to us.
2 Corinthians Chap: 10:3-5 says: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortress. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised against the knowledge of God and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Do we take every thought captive? No, should we do this? YES! Thoughts have effects on feelings and we have a tendency to act on those feelings. We should be taking the questionable thought captive and ask is that from God. If not, rebuke that thought & move on.
We get into trouble when we take that thought and dwell on it, then it becomes our thought. That is where we get into trouble. Everything from thoughts turning into gossip to thoughts getting us into really hot water.
We as Christians must fight the fight and capture thoughts. By doing so we are tearing done strong holds against God. To mature more & more, we must learn to live Gods word, not just have the head knowledge.
So my friends when you get strange thoughts, capture them.

Trust God to be God
God has put in us the need or desire to have a God. Through out history there have been many Gods.
The most popular belief is that there is one God. Muslims and Jews believe in one God, Christians believe in one God with three forms, God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and the Son of God Jesus. The Bible says Jesus is a stumbling block.
Romans says that God gave each of us a measure of faith. I believe that the measure of faith is to except Christ for who he is, the one who died for our sins on a cross, then 3 days later defeated death, and is our living savior.
If we have enough faith to believe that, then why do we not believe the rest of the story, how we as Christians have the power of Gods Holy Spirit in us and the power of God is right there, waiting to be used by us. Yet we don't except the fact that we can speak words of wisdom into someones life and have those words change their life. How we can speak words of knowledge about someones life, letting them know that gods knows what they went through. That we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. How we can speak word of prophecy.
Jesus said faith the size of a mustard seed could move mountains, you have at least that much faith buy excepting Christ. Be bold, step out in faith, do the unexpected, TRUST GOD TO BE GOD.

Tame Your Tongue
Christ said it is not what goes in your mouth that defiles you, but what comes out of it. We continually speak words of gossip & rumors & cussing & bitter hateful words, putting people or children down. Why?
2 Corinthians 9:5 says We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Before you speak it, you think it How can we as Christians allow foul cussing to come out of our mouths? How can we as Christians allow gossip & rumors to come out of our mouths? The enemy is suttle, capture those thoughts.
Take personal account for what you say. It grieves the Holy Spirit living within you to use such language, to judge others harshly, to gossip about others. Remember, Christ who is in you, capture those thoughts.

Three Crosses
You know how you see three crosses at churches or along the road, why are there three? The believe is because of Jesus and the 2 thieves with him. What does the cross stand for? Death & Resurrection. One thief acknowledged who Christ was. The other thief did not acknowledge Christ for who he was. Christ told the ONE thief that he would be with Christ in Paradise this day. The other Thief was not going to Paradise. So there should be only two crosses, not three. Think about it!

Mans Soul
Moses writes in Genesis that God created the heavens and earth and man in six days. So are they actually six 24 hour days? Since time does not exist in eternity, no one knows. It may have been six actual days or six months or six years, we will not know until we get to heaven. I like to think that when God created the universe he took his time. Could God have went boom and it's done, he certainly could have. But I believe he said hm, the northern star should go here, I want the southern cross here, the milky way goes here, he enjoyed it and took pleasure in it.
In Genesis 1:27, God creates man, male & female, in verse 28 He said be fruitful and multiply. Then in Genesis 2:7, God creates Adam. It is generally thought that chapter 2 verse 7 and beyond is merely a closer look at chapter 1 verse 27. However let us take a closer look. When God created man male & female, he told them to fill the earth. When he created Adam, God breathed into the nostrils of Adam and he became a living being. It was just Adam and God placed him in a garden east in Eden. I believe this is a direct point, that Adam was moved east of where man & woman where at. Otherwise why be specific as to the location, east.
Then Adam named all of the animals. After a period of time, no one knows how long, God said is was not good for Adam to be alone and so Eve was created from the the rib s of Adam. Adam and Eve where placed in the garden to have fellowship with God. Then Adam and Eve had Cain & Abel. If Adam & Eve where the only people on earth, then had Cain & Abel, When Cain killed Abel and God told them to leave the garden, and Cain said (Genesis 4:14) it will come about that whoever finds me will kill me. Who will find him?
Scientist have been mystified by what they call the missing link between modern man & the cave man. Perhaps the creation of man in chapter one was the caveman and the creation of Adam was the modern man. As I continue, you will see the main difference between man & Adam.
genesis 6:1, Now it came about when men began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters where born to them, 6:2, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men where beautiful and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. There is debate over who these sons of God are. Polular believe is that they were heavenly beings come down from heaven, thus the gaints to be born in the land, or they were Cains children. However there is but one Son of God and that is Jesus! There for the sons of God can only refer to Adam and his sons & grandsons.
Genesis 6:5, Then the Lord saw that the wickness of man was great on the earth and that every intent of his heart was only evil, continually. Now we have to go back to look at chapters one & two again. In chapter one, when God created man male & female, he did not breathe the breath of life into them. When He created Adam, he breathed the breath of life into him, thus giving him a soul and a conscience. When Eve was created from the rib of Adam, she came out of him and she to had a soul and consience. Man had became so evil because he did not have a soul or conscience.
Man was so evil and co-mingled with mankind who had souls & consience, that God was sorry he had created man. God knew that evil wpould prevail in those who did not have a soul or conscience and those man & women from the garden would continue to mate with man & woman.
Noah and his family where seekers of God, so through Noah's family, he ended the era of man without soul or conscience and started the new era. We are not perfect by any means, God did not intend for us to be perfect, but to seek him in all things.
Is there still evil in the world? Of cousre there is, its seems that there are those today who do not have a conscience , but they do. They must learn to take captive every thought, but that is another subject to be addressed later.
I hope this sparks some thought. It should make you think. So dig into God's word and see what he says about all of this to you.

A False Balance
Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is an abominaton to The Lord
We cannot have a false balance saying I am a Christain and go to church, but act like the world when not at church.
We cannot express the love of God at church and then express hatred and bigotry the rest of the week.
We cannot go to church and agree with the pastor about how terrible sin is and then spend the rest of the week practicing what was preached against.
We must stand up for Jesus! We must express his love and compassion for others.
We cannot have a false balance. We cannot walk the fence. We are either inside the fence and a part of Jesus flock or we are ravenous wolves outside the fence.
God gave us freedom of choice. We cannot do a balancing act.

The Journey Begins At The Cross
When the apostles of Christ saw him hang on the cross and die, they thought that their journey had ended at the cross.But is was just beginning. As the apostles prayed and mourned after Christ death, they were lost momentarily. Then when Christ appeared to them and told them to wait, wait until the day of Pentecost. On that day the apostles where filled with the Holy Spirit, which marked the beginning of their journey. Without the cross, there would be no beginning of the journey (The journey Begins here).
There are millions of people around the world who came to the cross, excepted Christ for who he is, the Son Of God and our savior, who died on the cross for our sins, and now they are forgiven and so they have arrived. Their journey is over.
They couldn't be more wrong. Just as for the apostles, their journey is just beginning. If they would reach out to God, he would take them on a fantastic journey which begins right there in their prayer room. The journey does not end at the cross, but just begins.
So I hope you will return every month or so and see where this journey leads me and perhaps helps open your eyes and ears a little more for your journey. Only God knows how far he wants to take you. So continue to seek God so that your journey may continue on it's wonderful path.
